Two things we always include and that many businesses underestimate: your own domain and the SSL certificate. Here’s why they matter, without the jargon.
Your own domain: your address on the internet
Your own domain is something like yourbusiness.com. It’s your address, and it’s yours, not one borrowed from another platform (like yourbusiness.platform.com).
Why it matters:
- It looks professional. An email and a website on your own domain make a different impression.
- It’s a stable address. It makes it easier to keep the same address even if you change providers. Before signing up, confirm whose name it’s registered under and how you could transfer it.
- It helps people find you. A clear domain is easier to remember and to share.
In our plans, the .com domain is included from the first year and kept with every renewal.
As for whose name it’s under: if you already have a domain, you give us access to point it to your site. If we buy it for you, we register it under UbicaYá’s name and manage it for as long as the service runs. If you ever decide to leave, write to ventas@ubicaya.com, we unlock it and give you the transfer code so you can move it to the provider of your choice.
The SSL certificate: a secure connection (HTTPS)
The SSL certificate makes your site work over HTTPS: the connection between the browser and your site is encrypted, which protects data while it travels. On its own it doesn’t prove a business is trustworthy, and the icon the browser shows next to the address can vary.
Why it matters:
- Trust. Without it, the browser shows “Not secure,” and many people leave.
- Sales. Few people leave their details or pay on a site the browser marks as not secure.
- It’s a signal for search engines. HTTPS protects the connection and search engines take it into account.
It’s also included in all our plans, from day one.
In short
You don’t have to worry about the technical side: the domain and SSL are taken care of. You focus on your business; we focus on making your site look professional and secure.
